Case Study - CEA MyCEknowhow

CCS-Developed Site Teaches Consumers How To Choose Electronics Products

SUMMARY

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which unites more than 1,000 consumer electronics companies, is committed to educating people about technology. CEA tapped CCS to develop the MyCEknowhow.com website, which provides information to help thousands of consumers choose electronics products suited to their needs.

STRATEGY

CCS created and manages the MyCEknowhow site and works to develop partners to link to the information. The educational site provides consumers interactive presentations explaining key concepts and terms that will influence their purchasing decision for popular electronics technologies.

SOLUTION

Easy to navigate and user-friendly, MyCEKnowhow currently houses interactive buying guides, summaries and "how to" materials on MP3 Players, Digital Imaging, Digital Television and other categories. Throughout the site, there are links to additional resources, including the popular Connections Guide for home theater components and HDTV Resource Guide.

SUCCESS

Launched during the 2005 holiday season, MyCEKnowhow was prominently featured in CEA’s booth at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. MyCEknowhow is linked with CNET.com and has received the attention of both industry press and the general media. In less than a year, the site experienced over a million hits and thousands of downloads from users all over the world.
